Moving into the world of overpriced drinks now, with this amazingly expensive cocktail, served at the Salvatore in London. Only three of these cocktails have even been purchased, and for good reason as who can afford $8,633 for a drink?! Made with aged ingredients, this cocktail has 1788 Clos de Griffier Vieux Cognac, 1770 Kummel Liqueur, 1860 Dubb Orange Curacao and early 20th century Angostura Bitters.
6. Algonquin Hotel, New York City — $10,000 martini
Even in a city dense with destinations, the Algonquin Hotel in New York City stands out. The landmark hotel, at the heart of “Club Row” in midtown Manhattan. Their drink of choice recently inspired the hotel to offer its “Martini on the Rock” deal. A drink priced at $10,000 comes with a pre-selected diamond sparkling on the bottom. John Ridley recently sampled the costly cocktail, perhaps the only beverage choice that requires a 72-hour advance notice and a personal visit to the hotel’s own jeweler.
