Since 1972, French women are having an equal status in the military as that of men. They represent 19% of the French army and are known for their willpower, courage, and dedication. There are still some selective units which do not enter the women soldiers and that includes the Riot Control and the French Foreign Legion unit. Despite having some limitations French women shone brightly. For eg. Valerie Andre, a neurosurgeon became three-star general and first ever woman pilot for a helicopter and served during the Indo-China war.
38. Spain
Around 15,000 women accounting for 12.5% are in the Spanish Armed Forces. Spain highly confronts the gender inequality when it comes to military programs. They have International Courses for Gender Advisors in operations and that is the most female-oriented military programs around.
