A chiseled and macho Aamir sported a sexy mustache in the film. Even though the movie didn't do wonders at the box-office, Aamir Khan's determination and sincerity towards his character were commendable.

As Bhuvan in Lagaan, Aamir Khan marked his superiority as an actor. Apart from his villager look that was spot on, Lagaan was also the official Hindi entry to Oscars in the year 2000.
