Finland has always avoided any international conflicts in the past and that is a reason many people do not realize that men aged between 18 to 30 years of age are required to be a part of the army and serve as soldiers of the nation. However, women can also serve but for them, it is not mandatory. They can offer services if they want. The women were only allowed to enroll around 1995 but women in Finland have been part of the battlefield since 1918 during the Civil War. Around 2000 women battled against the Russians for the independence of their country.
36. Brazil
Brazil was very late in allowing the females into the army. Until 1980’s females were not allowed to enroll in the military services. However, after policy changes, Brazil became the first country in South of America to welcome women into the armed forces and other permanent career positions. It is though not easy to enter Brazil’s army as for that a woman must be having a Bachelor’s in accounting, law, computer science or economics also women above 36 years are ineligible.
