Sunny Leone was born on 13 May, 1981 in Sarnia, Ontario to Sikh Punjabi parents. Her parental name is Karenjit Kaur Vohra. It was only after entering the A- industry that she changed her name to Sunny Leone.

She graduated from high school in 1999 and enrolled in college. As a young girl, she was very sporty and played street hockey with the boys, enjoyed ice skating on a nearby frozen lake and loves drinking hot chocolate in front of a fire after playing in the snow all day.
