She started her film career with her debut film in Kollywood called Kangalal Kaithu Sei alongside actor Vaseegaran. The one film which finally brought her much needed success and fame was Paruthiveeran, opposite Karthi. Her character Muthazhagu bagged her the National Award for Best Actress.
With the mixed performance of her films, she still enjoys moderate success in Mollywood. From time to time, she treat her fans with some spectacular performances.
