The Bundesheer army opened all its service branches to the females since 1998. According to the statistics of the nation at a given point in time around one and a half million women can apply for military services at any given point in time. However, many females are turned off by this idea of serving in the armed forces because of the army’s sexist thinking which came across in an advertisement which featured a woman chasing a fighter tank and begging for a ride. Post this, women immediately denounced the service call.
24. Italy
Earlier women were never a part of Italian Armed Forces but since 2010 around 10,000 women have served in the army. In past Italy had the lowest female intake in the army in the world. There were much cases of sexual harassment, abuse, and the women soldiers stayed as a guard for years against the molesters in uniform.
