Marla was a showgirl before becoming an Italian politician. After completing her degree in Law she worked for several years for Italian TV and also worked as a model and later entered the political scene as she got elected for the FIP (Forza Italia Party) in the year 2006 for the Chamber of Deputies.
On May 8th,2008 the then Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi appointed Marla as the Minister for Equal Opportunity and that move got her a lot of attention internationally because of her appearance and background. She was known as “the most beautiful minister in the world”. she was also ranked first on Maxim’s “World´s Hottest Politicians”.
